The inside storys of IBM India

IBM is one of the most prestigious brand in India. It is know by everyone and respected for the quality of products and the services it provided to the customers. Recession has changed everything. It has changed the way of thinking. Everywhere and Everyone  has started saving money. Companies too. They have found hundreds to the new ways to do so. Some ways are appriciated while some are like chopping part by part. The human resource teams of every department is producing new and more lethal ways to save money. Although they are human resource, but they are least bother about human.
 One of my friend is working in IBM India. Once we were chatting on yahoo, I asked him about the effect of recession in India.  I was surprised to know the cost cutting measures they are applying !!! . I want to share with you the secret cost cutting measures of the multinationals in India.
My friend told me that in year 2009- 2010 company are not going to increase salary. My friend (Ashish) was getting salary just to fullfill his bare minimum requirements like house rent, telephone bills and food. He was unable to purchase a new shirt from last five months. He has a family with him.
He also told me two years back, conditions were quite good. People want to work with IBM. Now most of the people just passing their time and waiting for good opportunity. He told that in one department most of the people has resigned and joined to a new company. Result heavy lose of revenue from that department.
Company was also providing cabs for pic and drop. Now company is providing bus for drop. Staff members now travel about 2-3 KM to board the bus and same the bus drop them to the bus stop. The reason is that bus stops are far away and only at the highway. If they shift to a house nearby bus stop , they will have nothing for the monthely expanses.
India is a hot country. Temperatue in summer is about 48 degree centigrade. Company is  also not providing the AC cabs or buses. 
As staffs are resigining, IBM is not recriting more staff to fullfil the gap due to lack of funds. Work pressure on every person has been increased to many folds.
Company also increased the working hours. Now as an average fifty hours of work is necessary. Minimum travel time is about four hours a day . People are strassed and not getting sufficient time to spend with their friend and relatives. You can imaging if a person spend fourteen hours outside his home, how much time would he spend with his family.
Now IBM has imarges as a jail. People dare to go office. It is like a continious harrasment with everyone.
